The Pakistani government on Friday has banned the Indian movie release in Pakistan’s cinema halls on the eve of Eid as it was proving grave danger for the local industry to flourish.

As per report, the local film industry had made a demand to the government to bring such order so as to sustain the industry in Pakistan. They claimed that the competition from the Indian Bollywood movies was as a ‘killer blow’ for the Pakistani film industry and they had been advocating ban on allowing Indian movies in local cinemas.

When we come to facts, Indian movies were banned by the Pakistani government in its cinemas even after the 1965 war between both the countries. It was under the government of former president General Perwez Musharraf that the screening of the selected Indian movies began as per censor board’s approval after a long gap of 40 years.

Well, Indian movies has got huge fan following in Pakistan and there also people are crazy about the Indian stars. The local markets over there are flooded with pirated copies of Indian movies and are in great demand all over Pakistan. The common people have shown their resentment against this decision of the government.

Speaking in the press conference actress Sangeeta, Mustafa Quereshi and several other artists favoured the ban impose on the Indian movies on the eve of Eid. They admonished the government that if that step were not taken by the government then future of Pakistani film industry would have been critical and everyone involved with the film trade would come on the streets.

However, the biggest sufferers are the Cinema owners as the Indian movies were a big source of raking in revenues. They are showing their resentment at such decision by the government and have decided to take up the ban to the federal government.
