In a shocking revelation today, Pakistan’s former President Pervez Musharraf was named as an accused in an interim charge sheet filed today by the prosecutors in an anti-terrorism court which is conducting the trial of the assassination of ex-premier leader in Pakistan Benazir Bhutto.
As per report of the state-TV, it was confirmed that Musharraf was named in the charge sheet which was filed today by the federation investigation agency in an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi. However, no official word has yet come in the development in the matter.
The proving body which is looking to the case of the assassination of Bhutto, UN Commission in a report blamed the negligence of Musharraf government and his failure to provide adequate security to the former premier responsible for the untoward incident that took her life.
Sources have reported that the anti terrorism court is conducting trial of five suspects linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan who have been charged with involvement in Bhutto’s assassination.
Bhutto was killed by a suicide attacker in Rawalpindi in December 2007 during an election rally in Rawalpindi. Musharraf was then President of Pakistan.
