With the controversy getting more and more perplexed regarding the irregularities in the financial matter dealt by the organizing committee, Kalmadi has been summoned by the Prime Minister in a meeting on Saturday, which is to begin from 4:30 to discuss the issue.

The meeting is likely to see Suresh Kalmadi, president of organizing committee, Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi and urban development minister Jaipal Reddy.

Earlier yesterday, to look into the matter, the ruling party had called a meeting amongst its core member including Party President Sonia Gandhi. The meeting continued for long hours and through some sources it was found that the core group did not come up with a strong solution and decided to leave this matter to the government to take a decision on the issue.

It has been also found from reliable sources that Prime Minister has decided to talk to the Sports Minister and urge the Sports Ministry to take appropriate action. It is also revealed that Games supervisory committee is going to be formed within few days, which will supervise all the work done by the organizing committee and work as a watchdog to all Kalmadi’s action.

As per the sources, the core group has decided to work with Kalmadi as the president of organizing committee until the Commonwealth Game was successfully completed, as the government is not left with many options.

The mega event is going to be held in New Delhi from 3rd to 14th October in which participants from 71 nations are expected to participate.
