Rent your car and help keep Earth green

In a move that will change the face of the car industry, the US state of California has recently passed a law asking private owners to lend out their cars for rent. This is a radical concept because it will eventually make every car in the state sharable.

Most of the people’s car remains standing idle for 90 percent of the time in the day. Giving these cars on rent on hourly basis for about 5 to 8 bucks per hour can help us in keeping our pocket warm.

Experts believe this would be a great way to reduce pollution from the increasing number of cars on the road, if the issues of safety and insurance liability are sorted out. The concept has very fast developing potential within it in a very short tenure across the nation.

Although it’s very true that people would not feel comfortable giving their cars to others but with the latest development in GPS system that keeps the track of the coordinates can provide some comfort to the owner.

Automakers are taking this proposal very seriously and they are getting into the act as future relies upon it. For instance Daimler has started offering its Car2Go service in Austin, Texas on an experimental basis.

With the onset of the recession, a number of rules have changed and paradigms dismantled. Today, a mature car owning population understands the need to share and reduce the burden of pollution on the planet.

As a result, car sharing has definitely arrived, and at a personal level.
