Indian film actor Shahid Kapoor, who is playing the role of an air force officer in his upcoming flick ‘Mausam’, will become the first bollywood actor to fly the American Lockheed Martin F-16 Super Viper combat aircraft at the Aero India show in Bangalore next week.
As per report of the sources, Shahid will take a ride on the fighter jet with a pilot giving him company in the cockpit on 12th of this month during the five day air show.
While speaking to media, he expressed his happiness and anxiety by saying that it was a huge honour and privilege that he got such a wonderful opportunity. He also said that it was coolest thing till now he has done in his life and was like super excited for it.
‘Mausam’ is an upcoming Hindi film directed and written by Pankaj Kapur, Shahid’s father and actor, under the Vistaar Religare Film Fund banner. The film would also feature actress Sonam Kapoor.
As per requirement of the movie, Kapoor has undergone rigorous training for the last one month and has got acquainted with the various aspects of fighter planes and the IAF life by meeting air force personnel over the last year.
Kapoor, 29, joins the likes of celebrities such as Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata, wing commander Rakesh Sharma–the first Indian to have gone in space and MP Navin Jindal who have flown as pillions in two-seater versions of fighters.
