The former Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) president Sharad Pawar has been selected as the International Cricket Council (ICC) president on Thursday. Sharad Pawar has taken over as the seventh ICC president, succeeding Englishman David Morgan who concluded his two year term on the same day.
After Jagmohan Dalmiya, a well-known Indian cricket administrator, Pawar became the second Indian to occupy the top position.
Although, Pawar initially faced some opposition from the “White” because of his political status, he managed to overcome all challenges.
The Union Agriculture Minister has the top job in hand to host the sub-continent countries 2011 World Cup.
