Sri Lanka thrashes India to roar into finals of Tri series

Yet another embarrassing defeat registered for India as Sri Lanka thrashed India in the fifth ODI of the tri series played in Rangiri Dambulla by 8 wickets with 34.5 overs left. With this win, Sri Lanka has booked its position into the finals of the tri series which is going to be held on 28^th of August.

Sri Lankan openers Mahela Jayewardene and Tilekaratane Dilshan, smashed 14 boundaries and shared 79 runs in just 50 balls, exposed ruthlessly India’s deficiencies with the bat. Although both the openers became the victim of Ishant Sharma on the successive deliveries of the 10^th over, Upal Tharanga and Kumar Sangakkara brought the rest of runs without further hiccups.

Right from the beginning India never came into the match. India opted to bat first after winning the toss but its openers could not capitalize and the enigmatic Sehwag was the first to depart on the bowling of Kulasekhara when India was on 20 runs. Karthik also became the prey of Kulasekhara and left India struggling on 26 for 2.After this , wickets of India fell in quick succession and it was Yuvraj who played some dancing shots with 5 boundaries and one huge in his total of 38.India collapsed on a mere total of 103 runs.

Sri Lankan bowlers bowled from the beginning only on the right track and put India on the back foot. It was the day of Perera who took 5 wickets giving his career best of 5 for 28. He was declared Man of The Match for his outstanding performance.

Well, to get into the finals India is required to defeat black cats in the upcoming match who earlier thrashed India by 200 runs.

  ALL THE BEST TO SRI LANKA. IAM SURE THAT THEY WILL WIN THE SERIES.IT’S SAD TO KNOW THAT INDIA IS IN CRITICAL SITUATION TO REACH THE FINAL.LET’S HOPE THAT INDIA WILL THE MATCH AGAINST NEW ZEALAND AND ATLEAST REACH THE FINAL TO KEEP UP THE COUNTRY’S HONOUR.
