St. Stephens College cut off marks brought down this year

Good news for the students aspiring for degree in St. Stephens College, Delhi. The cut off marks for admission has been brought down in this admission session for many subjects. The same has been declared on Sunday.

The cut off marks has come down for 11 subjects this academic year. For Humanities subject like history (honours) cut off has been reduced by 3%. Last year it was 91% (with an increase of 7%). For philosophy (honours), the cut off marks did not rise and has been kept same as last year to 85%. For BA programmer it has come down to 85% with respect to that of last year which was 88%.

For science subjects the cut off remains almost same as the previous year.  For Physics is 94.33% and for Chemistry the % slightly has increased by 0.34%. The cut off for chemistry this year is 92.67%. In B.Sc. programme with computer science and with Chemistry, the % has dropped to 92% and 86.33% respectively. The cut off marks this year has created a record for many subjects.

For Science students aspiring for Humanities it has been most beneficial this year.

Only cut off has risen for Sanskrit (Honours) and Chemistry (Honours) this year. Also the Science students aspiring for Philosophy will face a rise in cut off.

The Principal of St Stephen’s college, Valson Thampu said that they had taken this new policy because of the new admission policy which state that there should not be merit differences between general and scheduled category by more than 15%. Previously this difference was as high as 35%.
