Peshwar, Feb 10 (IBNS) At least 18 troopers were killed when a suicide bomber detonated himself at a morning military parade at Punjab Regimental Centre at Mardan in Pakistan on Thursday
Police said the bomber in school uniform had targeted the army men, also critically wounding 20 others.
“It was a suicide attack. The teenager bomber was on foot and was wearing a school uniform,” the police, who helped the army to evacuating the injured to hospital, said.
Initially 15 were killed and later three died on way to hospital.
Mardan is about 30 kms northeast of the regional capital P eshawar.
Police said investigation is on to determine how the bomber sneaked though the metal detectors, usually put up in all army bases.
Troops have cordoned off the area.
