Veteran South Indian actress Sujatha who worked in more than 300 films in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam passed away on Wednesday at her Chennai residence.
As per report of the sources, the 58 year old actress succumbed to her illness which she was undergoing through treatment.
The Sri Lanka born Malayalee actress had made her sensational debut in the film Aval Oru Thodarkathai. Her other films include Annakili, Avargal, Justice Chakravarthy, Vidhi, Uzhaipalli, Baba and the list goes on.
She was also paired up with then superstars of the Telugu cinema of that time. Later she took a transformation of her role and switched to character roles thus delivering superb performances in films like Chanti, Pelli and Sri Ramadasu.
The actress known for her beautiful portrayals had paired up with Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth in lot of films.
Other notable films of the actress also include Edantstula Meda, Circus Ramudu Prema Tarangalu, Bebbuli, Bahadurapu Batasari, Gurusishyulu, Sandhya, Suthradarulu, etc.
It was from 70s to 80s that Sujatha played the role of heroines in the movie and then from 80s she graduated to sympathetic mother roles. Her latest release in Tamil Varaalaru in the year 2004 depicted her playing the role of Asin’s mother.
The actress is remembered for her confident acting, assertive voice and modern look from her first film itself and the entire film industry expressed their shock and condolences to the family of actress on the sudden demise of the actress.Share
