This is quick post on how the Tata Photon Plun Customer Service in India is like. I am not telling it’s like this everywhere in India but here is how my personal experience was today when I went to Tata Indicom main office in Koramangla Bangalore.
I went at around 11am to Tata Indicom main office in Koramangla Bangalore for taking a new Tata Indicom Photon Plus connection. The office was not that crowded so first impression was like “great! seems like it won’t take much time“. I went to a sales executive sitting there and told him that I came for taking a new Photon connection and that I also want to take the HP Laptop Photon Plus offer (I recently bought a HP laptop and they were offering a photon plus with every HP laptop for just Rs.850). The guy asked me if I have brought all the required documents and I said yes and gave him the documents. Then he started chatting with his colleague, started making some “not-so-funny” jokes and laughing. He was not at all concern about me (a customer sitting in front of him). Then he told me “sir, please just two minutes” and went away. Came back after some 5 minutes and started chatting with the other guys (his colleagues) about some something which I thought not at all related to their work at hand.
He then picked up an empty form and gave it to me to sign in some 4 places and fill in a few blanks. Then he again went somewhere. I was getting little bit annoyed and so when he returned back, I asked him how long it’s gonna take and he replied “just 10 minutes sir, the laptop is not free, we need that for the photon activation”. I said ok. But then he call to his next guy and told him to handle this customer (me) because he had to deal with some stuff. He gave my form to that guy and started chatting and laughing with the other colleague. The other guy was typing some stuff on his keyboard and so I waited. He kept on typing for some 3-5 minutes then I got irritated and asked him “who actually is going to handle my form“. He told me like “sir, he (the original guy) will do it, I am generating some invoices“. Then saying that he called the guy loudly and gave the form to him again telling “yaar please, you do it naah“.
It was like that and it was the worst customer service I have seen in Bangalore. Finally I got the photon connection ready at around 2.30pm! Such a waste of time and the guys out there were such waste people who knows nothing about customer service. But the funniest thing was that, all of them had one badge on their shirt where it was printed in bold yellow “CUSTOMER FIRST“. HAHAHA that’s too funny! LOL. Anyway, my cousin is using the Tata Photon plus now (only because they are the only provider of such a service in India right now) but I would never use any product from them again. Not because their product is bad, but because their customer service “sucks”. Period.

Dear Sir,
I have booked an complaint against my tata photon plus No 9266921943 on dated 24-05-11 Req no 265789913,06-06-11,comp no 267263685 and 23-06-11, Dock no 269385863 regarding poor performace of the device.( the device is getting heated up and not able to open any site ) But you are not taken the matter seriously and not solved the problems till date.
On 14-07-11 your Mr Sunil came to my office and done lot of experiment on that finaly he told me the present device having problem and he will bring the new one on next day , but not yet
In the mean time your payment devision is asking me to pay monthly rent. which can not be pay . Because the device is not in use the past one and half month.
So you are requested to take the mater seriously and do the needful at the ealiest
