With 50.1 percent YOY and 9.7 percent QOY in the Q4 Result, TCS is now considering salary hike for its employees. According to TCS officials, they are now considering salary hike and the hikes in the salary may be implemented during financial ending March 2010. The actual hike percentage, however, has been decided yet.
“There definitely will be a wage hike but the quantum is not finalised. We are considering three options”, TCS global head of HR Ajoy Mukherjee said address the media when asked about the TCS hike.
Right now, there is a variable pay system being implemented in the TCS. The junioir level employees get a salary of which 20% is variable. This percentage is 45% for the senior level officials. The variable component of the salary is calculated based on the overall performance of their respective business unit. The same goes for other companies like Wipro where performance of the business unit affects the salary of each employee.
TCS now has 1,50,000 employees across the globe and it is one of the biggest software exporter in India.

This is more than expectation that everybody in joining year 2007 (now have average 2.5 years experience) have received an average 27% increment in the salary. Thanks TCS.

After 2 yrs TCS has given me 10% increment… that also after getting A band.
And for promotion we have to wait for 1 yr to reflecy in salary ….
TCS has given just 7-8% hike after two years and all the persons claiming 27% increment or news that TCS has given 25% hikes are baseless. I am one of those persons on the receiving end. After two years of waiting the have given peanuts as hike.
all bull shit ….. average salary hike is between 7k to 30k (after a gap of 2 yrs). All the reports declared to media is superficious. People who got good hikes , either they got yearly appraisal or got their dues bcoz of last yrs promotion.

TCS has given hefty hike only peoply above Consultants (about 20%). There is big hike to people who have joined in 2007(20-30%). for 2008 batch it is max 12%. For others it varies as ITA almost no change(only 6-7%).
aftet so long wait, TCS gave 7% hike. Shame on you Ajoy Mukharjee!! .. These are the employees who worked so hard to get 7000 crore profit and what they get in return is thumb in the shit!!.
Infy do not stand in comparison if we compare the profits but it exceeds miles away if we compare the employee satisfaction.
at such huge profit tcs gave 6-7 % increment. There is no wonder that if profit didnt rise in future, these ppl will take your paid salries and will beg in fornt of you for more money.
I heard that most of the tata group profits is given to trusts. So just one question, which kind of trust and managment it is who is keeping their family members hungry and shattered with such a huge increment.

10% avg hike is not correct , most of the tcsers got hike much less then avg hike of 10%. I have got 8% hike when my rating is same as last year, which is above average rating. Numbers of 10% and 13% does not seems to be correct Delaying promotion benefits for 1 year is also not good, as promotion were already delayed for 2 years. There can not be any reason why an employee has to wait for a year for VA of new grade. TCS should have delyaed promotions for another year, which they decided to give because this would have caused more attrition, hence TCS decided to give namesake promotion.
Well.. the second hike in a year by Infosys (that too by 14%) has defenitely made TCS / Wipro Defensive. Wipro has announced only 8% hike. TCS need to loosen purse

First year – 0%
Second Year – 2%
Third Year – Coming August I will come to know about my hike presentage.

I have joined IBM on 2008 as Lateral Entry.
After 2 year,I came to know I will get NO HIKE as my salary is still above average compare to the market…I just get pissed and f*** IBM now…..

I am a IBMer. When i was joined company then i had proud feeling as a IBMer but now my view is totally different. Even i performed well i have not received good rating due to internal politics. This year expected increment is single digit this is frustruating as performance,market correction, employee exp. does not count for evaluation.
may be like other i would like to say bye bye soon within short time….No double digit salary increment in 2010 but double digit labour turnover already happened with IBM…

i joined IBM IN 2006 as a fresher, till now my salary doesnt even increased by 5 %, IBM is not the best place to work they cheat with the brand name, gain exp here and flew away asap. Not a employee friendly, its executive friendly, workers who very hard get peanuts, those who works as executive will be paid heavily…
