The Movie “The Compass” is in the buzz right now. Personally I have not yet watched it but based on this review by EvolvingBeings blog, it seems like a wonderful documentary movie.
Here is the direct quote from there:
The movie “The Compass” was produced by John Spencer Ellis. John Spencer Ellis is a leading expert on fitness, personal development and healthy living. John has been studying human achievement for over 20 years now and has been helping people attain their personal goals. Despite numerous achievements in his life to date, John felt he had to do something on a grander scale to make a positive change in the world, and thus the movie and book “The Compass” was born.
The movie starts off in a beautiful log cabin of an old man who is writing on a typewriter “his story”. He begins with “I was lost until I found…” It is at this time that we begin to meet the many expert speakers featured throughout this movie that explain to us the concept of “The Compass“.
In fact, the movie features 23 expert teachers in the areas of personal development, spirituality, life coaching and more! Some of the most notable names include Bruce Lipton, Joe Vitale, John DeMartini, Marie Diamond, John Assaraf and John Spencer Ellis himself, just to name a few. You can see the full set of teachers here.
The Compass MovieWe shortly thereafter, meet “the traveler” – a man who represents the old man writing his story, and any one of us as we trek through our own journey of life. From this point on, the focus is on “the traveler” and the challenges and experiences that he encounters along his path. While “the traveler” is on a literal journey of various paths through hills, valleys and forests, the symbolic nature is for all of us to connect this to our own “journeys” that take place each day, in each of our lives.
As “the traveler” treks on, the speakers randomly, present material that is packed with wisdom, love, inspiration, encouragement and many, many tips for a more joy-filled, successful, abundant and peaceful life.
The movie covers and is thus divided into 16 segments that address various areas in our lives and along the paths of our own journeys.

The movie also features 4 inspirational stories from:
Charlie Gay – an ambitiously successful man, who overcame chemical and emotional challenges to live out his most fulfilling life ever by being of service to others.
Marilyn Tam – a successful business woman, who overcame racial and familial profiling and abuse to grow up to become one of the most renowned entrepreneurs of our time.
Burton Roberts – an educated and highly motivated man, who not only was featured on the Survivor show, but who believed in following one’s bliss and doing in life completely what one loves, not what society dictates.
Jeff Lewis – a man who survived and overcame 2 near death experiences as well as body amputations, to continue to live life fully and with much passion for the service of others.
The above stories alone, are sure to move one to a deeper sense of being and feeling, as well as possibly to tears, as they motivate and show what the human body and spirit are truly capable of.
In conclusion, “The Compass” hits on many personal development key messages that are so crucial to all of our lives and so applicable, and explains them in short, easy to understand and mind moving segments!
