North East Japan has been shaken today by a massive earth quake of 8.9 magnitudes which was followed by 10 m high Tsunami waves which washed away everything that came in its way as per report of the sources.
It is the biggest earthquake that has hit Japan in the last 140 years causing many injuries. Till now six peoples have been reported to be dead but it is feared that the number of causalities may increase with time.
As per report from the media of Japan, 13ft high Tsunami swept away many houses, cars and farms. Moreover, many buildings are on fire and major part of the capital city, Tokyo, is without power after the buildings in the capital shook violently.
According to the TV footage shown, many cars, houses, boats, trucks were seen floating in water after Tsunami hit north eastern coast. Kyodo news agency said there were reports of fires in Sendai where waves carried cars across the runway at the airport. So the airport has been closed.
As per report of Reuter’s reporter, the shaking was so intense that it was hard to stand and household goods had flung into the street from the shops.
Though, earthquake is common in Japan, People have not seen such major quake for centuries.
As a safety measure, Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia have also issued Tsunami alerts and people have been asked to stay calm.
