Two militants from the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) surrendered themselves to Border Security Force (BSF) with weapons in Meghalaya.
36-years-old Madhav Bora and 20-years-old Abhijay Mising surrendered before the Border Security Guards (BSF) in Golaghat district of Meghalaya. Bora and Mising joined the terrorist group in 2000, were trained in Myanmar and they are now member of the potent striking unit of the separatist rebel group of 28th battalion of ULFA.
A 0.22 mm pistol, a 9 mm pistol and some live rounds were recovered from them when the two rebels surrendered. The two were also involved in some murder and extortion case. According to a report released by the BSF, the two have now been handed over to the Assam Police.
On the other hand, according to Sagar Toppo, who claimed to be the commander of 28th battalion of ULFA has informed local TV channels that the two didn’t belong to their group.
In another incident, BSF arrested three persons from Bangladesh with thousands of fake currencies of Indian Rupee note while they were trying to enter India.
