Two UNLF cadres arrested in Guwahati

Guwahati, Oct 12 (IBNS) : Two Manipuri rebels were arrested in Assam’s Guwahati town on Tuesday, police said. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Guwahati city police launched a massive operation and arrested two United National Liberation Front (UNLF) militants from Pan Bazar area in the city.

The nabbed militants were identified as Colonel Jai Singh alias Mairangthem Nongyai and Ashok Singh.

”We have got a specific information and arrested the rebels, who were working for the outfit for past couple of months in Guwahati,” Guwahati Superintendent of Police (SP) (Operation unit) Mugdha Jyoti Mahanta said.

Police seized a laptop and mobile phones from the militant duo.
