Typhoon Conson reaches Vietnam, 7 persons missing

The typhoon Conson which killed 39 people in Phillipines this week reached Vietnam and seven persons are reported to be missing. The typhoon reached at a weakened stage to Vietnam. Before reaching Vietnam, it had already crosses Hainan, an island in China, where two people were killed.

Six Vietnamese fishermen and a female tourist were reported to be missing. Some more areas like Thanh Hoa and Hai Phong in Vietnam are still in a dangerous situation, according to weather forecasts. The army has already evacuated more than 150,000 people from coastal regions.

Police are reported to have dispersed tourists and locals who had gathered at the beaches to watch the high waves. The Vietnameses have also warned of flash floods and landslides in the areas. More than 10 flights have also been cancelled by the Vietnam Airlines from areas like Hai Phong and Hanoi.
