With the RLD chief’s, Ajit Kumar, call of ‘Parliament Gherao’ thousands of farmers of UP protesting against the acquisition of their land for the Yamuna Expressway project have blocked the key streets leading to Parliament in national capital New Delhi as a part of their protest against the state government.

The farmers are coming Delhi via the Noida, Loni and Faridabad borders  with hundred of vehicles arriving from the areas like Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad and Bijnor as a result of which the traffic, as reported by the police, has been jammed in many places like Rajghat, JLN Marg, Barakhamba Road, K G Marg, Janpath, Ranjit Singh Marg and Tolstoy Marg.

As per sources, it has been reported that nearly 12000 to 15000 farmers have planned to congregate and show their resentment against the forceful acquisition of their land for the Yamuna Expressway, a dream project of Uttar Pardesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

Earlier, at the farmer’s mob getting violent a special security team was installed on Wednesdays night at Delhi’s borders with Uttar Pradesh so as to avert the attempt of the farmers to enter the city with their tractors to show resentment. Sources said meetings have been held across western and central UP on Wednesday and movement have begun from the night itself.

Even the movement of the people by trains has been proved difficult as farmer’s mob has jammed the Ajmere gate, Darya ganj and Chandni Chowk.

Police officials have been brought back to business to empty the city from farmers and clear the traffic ASAP.
