CPI Leader and former Member of the Parliament died today in Thiruvananthapuram. This sad news followed after Varkala Radhakrishnan met with an accident last week.
Varkala Radhakrishnan was hit by a vehicle about a week ago, when he was on a morning walk. He was then reported to have fractured in the ribs which in turn affected the normal fuctioning of the lungs. He was under treatment at the Medical College Hostpital follwoing the accident for the past few days. He was 84 when he died today and he is survived by wife, son and two daughters.
Varkala Radhakrishnan has also seved as the Speaker of the Kerala Assembly between 1987 and 1991. He won the election from the Chirayinkil constituency and made his way to become an MP later.
