A new credit card has been introduced by Visa’s European arm which will help prevent online fraud. The credit card which is called Visa CodeSure is designed with a keypad and digital number display.
Visa CodeSure is like any other credit card but it has additional features which include a miniature keyboard and a digital screen to generate a constantly changing series of unique security passwords required to authorize purchases over the Internet, the ‘Daily Mail’ reported.
“The new credit card is a convenient way as it will bring high level of security for online shoping same as we enjoy on the high street”, according to officials of Visa Europe.
The card also has a 12 button keypad; a screen and a battery that will help it last for around three years. The user has to feed in their PIN on the keyboard, and after that a unique password with letters and numbers will be generated. This unique password has to be typed in to the online store or website to approve a purchase.
The security given by the card is because of the fact that it can be only used by the person who knows the PIN. Moreover, different passwords will be generated each time when a purchase is to be authorized.
Visa CodeSure can also be used to access bank accounts by generating secure passwords. This will avoid using the same passwords for all transactions.
