Since the Viteee 2010 results are out and many of you already know your rank, it’s time we discuss the cutoff mark and rank vs branch allocation. I have tried to find out some of the previous years discussion on various online discussion forums and have got the following data. I thought it would be useful for your reference.
As per a 2008 Viteee cutoff mark discussion:
But once again, that is based on 2008 predictions and it may not apply entire in the current 2010 VIT admission.
As per a 2009 rank branch discussion which I found on Yahoo answer:
But of course that is also a data related to 2009 VIT admission and may not entirely apply in 2010.
As per this yahoo discussion (please check the comment by Nizam), here are the expected approximate rank vs branch chart for 2009.
As far as the total number of seats in the VIT is concerned, there are 153 seats each in CSE, ECE, BioTech, Mech, etc., 102 seats each in EEE, IT and 51 seats each in BioInfo, Chemical, Civil, Electronics and Instrumentation, Telecommunication Engg., etc. in 2009 (source).
I am still trying to find other discussions from where we can extract some information so as to help you get a rough idea on what branch you may get in the Vellore Institute of Technology this year.I will update here as soon as I get more.
Please note that the data provided above are not my evaluation. They have been taken from discussion available elsewhere whose source I have linked above and I am not responsible for their accuracy. Once again, that is just for your reference.Share
