We Are Family, a movie taken as a remake of StepMom played by Julia Roberts where Kareena Kapoor casts a similar role in the film brings lot of confusion into the viewer’s mind as the film begins. Average it gets a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5 (as per various movie review sources).

The film goes on with Arjun Rampal as father and Kajol as mother of three children Aleya, Ankush and Anjali. Arjun is divorced leaving back his kids with his ex-wife Kajol (Maya). He picks up a soft relation with Kareena kapoor (Shreya) for three years continuously and desires to get it done permanent.

Kareena with her seductive “figure show” before the camera and with Arjun, finally agrees to meet his kids who live in Australia. The film then makes a turn with a twist sounding as a disastrous move. Kareena’s further meeting with the kids, trying to have a good relation, the kids named her as a “wicked witch” haunting them with her feelings in building a relationship with the kids on her own terms.

Kareena’s role in the movie similar to that of Julia Roberts’s character in StepMom is pivotal to the story.

Kajol is perfect in the movie as like how she did DDLJ with less make-up and no doubt her eyebrows that meet. She can contribute more to the movie show but she had to make a control on her emotions as her due days are up. This film is like a gift being presented to her son and she says “It’s a love-you forever gift”.

Towards the end of the show Arjun who initially goes by with Kareena, later when comes to know his ex-wife has cancer he regrets for what he has done and comes back home and behaves like the true grief-stricken husband.

‘We Are Family’ is sounded to be of the same generation of movies like Ta Ra Rum Pum which concentrates more on kids’ performance.
