When will Maruti Cervo come or launch in India? Maruti's answer to Nano!

After all these news about Tata Nano, here is a news you are going to like. Maruti Suzuki is planning to roll in another B-segment car into India. Yes, it’s a version of the captivating Suzuki Cervo which is already becoming popular in Japan. As a competition to the Tata Nano, Maruti is expected to keep the price of their new Maruti Cervo at par with that of Tata Nano. This is expected to be done by removing some of the luxury accessories from the already existing version of the Suzuki Cervo or by manufacturing some of the parts with cheaper materials.

Cervo seems to be really captivating and if it comes in the Indian market with its present look and design and at the price tag of that of a Tata Nano, then I guess Tata Nano is going to have a very tough time. Right now, Tata Nano is priced around 1.3 Lacs. So, even if the price tag of Maruti Cervo goes little up to 2 Lacs, I am sure people will prefer the captivating Cervo. Maruti Cervo will come with a 660cc petrol engine that produces 55bhp power and it will be specially adapted to the Indian Customer.

Look wise, Cervo is even more captivating than the new Suzuki Splash (Maruti Ritz). So, if you are planning to buy a new car this coming season just like me, sit back and wait for a while, I am sure there are sure some pleasant surprises coming up our way. But the ultimate question is “When is Maruti Suzuki planning to bring this Cervo in India?” Well, it’s expected at around late 2009. So, let’s see what comes up next.

  Well, like many others, I too am waiting to buy CERVO, of course going by the look of it in websites, and now getting frustrated. The car is beautiful, but does not look to be in the Rs. 1.50-2.00 lac range. The BIG question is: Should we wait?

  Does the rear seat of Cervo allows 3 persons to be seated? so that total capacity comes to 5 including the driver. If it easily accommodates 5 people, then it is the right answer for small indian family.

  I didn’t found any official news about launch of Cervo. Now it is already Mid July 2010. So How long Maruti-Suzuki will take to compete with Nano, which has already accepted by Indian people. I think Maruti Cervo is just a gossip. Maruti-Suzuki don’t have the potential to compete TATA. TATA is going to be the heighest seller in the next few year.

  Dear All,
  I was waiting for maruti cervo to be launched and almost prepared to buy one, but waiting and searching on all the sites, when i was frustrated i go to the maruti dealers (several)and wondered to know that this model is running successfully with japan in electronic gear, but they till dont know whether it will be launched in india or not. so if u r waiting or planning to buy a cervo, FORGET IT, and try something else.

  we trust maruti and its potential…if this car is launched before end of 2010, m sure that the sale wud be a blast and people wil go for it..m also waiting for this car since long cos its interior and exterior realy luk fab…

  I trust maruti & its potential & I am too waiting to buy CERVO,This car is beautiful, but Engine cc are bit low can company make this model on 800 cc $ it will be right choose for small indian family.
