As per latest revelation, reports have alleged that Indian Space Research Organization being biased to any private firm during the allocation of scarce S-band spectrum without a bidding process. This was demanded by Left parties today who urged the government to start a thorough probe into the matter concerning the new scam.
As per report of the sources, CPI (M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechury said that this was a new issue and the ISRO was under the Department of Space which was looked by the Prime Minster of the country.
Sources have also reported that BJP on Monday asked Prime Minister to clear the air and initiate the inquiry and take steps to recover the lost revenue.
In a statement, the CAG said that its statement has been drawn to reports appearing in media regarding audit being undertaken by Audit and Accounts Department of DoS.CAG also claimed that it is investigating the allotment of 70 MHz from the available 2500 MHz of S-band spectrum to Devas multimedia for 20 years. CAG also informed media that its investigations into the issue are at a preliminary stage and the media reports should not be treated as findings of this department.
CPI National Secretary D Raja said the new revelations were “very serious”, a view echoed by senior RSP leader Abani Roy who demanded a JPC into the matter.
Sources have also reported that Devas Multimedia has also been given two custom-made satellites and 10 transponders for use.
